How do I book?

You can book online for any of our camps or clubs, just find the school that you want to sign up to via the clubs and camps pages on our website. If you’d rather speak to someone in person then give us a call on 01442 873150.

When should I book?

We recommend booking in advance for your holiday camps and after school clubs. We have an overwhelming response when they go live and since we are only able to take a maximum of 30 children per camp or club, spaces get booked very quickly. We try to make this as fair as possible for people that want to attend, so we also have a waiting list for each camp and club that we list.

Can I buy a gift card?

That’s a great idea! Buy a gift card for one of our holiday camps for a unique present that Is fun and educational. Please contact one of our team on 01442 873150 to buy your child a ticket to tech world.

My child is in year 2 but 7 years old, can they still attend the camp?

Yes, as long as your child is 7 years old they can attend our holiday camps.

What qualifications do the teachers have?

Our teachers all have a passion for technology but most importantly, they have a passion for teaching. They all have a strong background in education and the technological sector. They also have extensive training and lesson planning according to the national curriculum to ensure that the lessons are fun and educational for all the students. Our recruitment team are safer recruitment and safeguarding trained to ensure that the professionals we hire are enthusiastic, professional and eager to make your child’s experience at our clubs or camps one to remember.

What is the teacher:student ratio?

This varies for our after-school clubs and camps. After-school clubs generally have one teacher present and a teaching assistant if needed. Whilst, we have a minimum of three teachers at our holiday camps which can support up to a maximum of 36 students.

How will the day run at tech camp?

Our Tech Camps run from 9 am until 3pm in the school holidays, please drop your child off a little bit before 9am so that we can start promptly. We start with a warm up activity to encourage the children to interact with each other and get to know the teachers. We then begin the first activity of three. Each of the activities last around an hour with 15 minute breaks in between, lunch lasts around 60 minutes where children can eat their own pack lunch. If the weather is nice, the teachers will supervise the children outside during break time. If the weather isn’t the best, our teachers will organise indoor games and activities during these breaks.

What do I need to bring?

Students normally bring their own lunch and drink with them. We cannot be sure that all of our school venues will have access to drinking water, so it is important that you make sure your child has enough drink to keep them hydrated for the entire day.
Please also bring any other medication that your child may require.

Will my child be working in groups?

We aim to bring enough equipment so that the children will be able to choose whether to work separately or within a pair. However, sometimes for logistic reasons your child may have to work in pairs on certain activities.

How can I be sure my child leaves camp with the right person?

When you drop your child off, the camp teacher will ask who is collecting the child. If you are not collecting your child then please let one of our staff members know and they will add this note to the register. When your child signs out, the staff member will ask the collector their name to make sure the right person has picked up your child.

Will there be first aid available at all times?

All of our staff members are first aid trained and will have first aid equipment with them if there is ever a situation where a child needs care.

Can I cancel my course for a refund?

All bookings are subject to the right to cancel in writing (by e-mail to us) within seven (7) calendar days from the date that you receive e-mail acknowledgement of the booking pursuant to the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

Outside of this seven (7) day period all bookings confirmed by us are final and non- refundable.

If you would like to cancel or make a change to your booking, please notify NextThing Education as soon as possible giving full reasons why. We offer credits and the ability to alter bookings up to 48 hours in advance subject to the availability of places at alternative Activities.
If a refund or credit is given for an Activity in which the customer has received a discount, the new Activity booking details will be considered to ensure the discount is still applicable. If this is not the case, the various session rates will revert to their pre-discount price and a refund or credit will only be given on the balance of the over payment.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer any refunds or credits for cancellations for activities starting today or for previous sessions.

Is there a group discount?

We offer a 5 % group discount when booking three or more children, please enquire via telephone to receive your discount code.

What if I only want to book for one day of the two day course?

That’s fine! If you want to book the first day of the camp please enter the coupon code DAY1, if you only want to book the second day of camp please enter the code DAY2.

How do I contact the camp?

At each camp, we have an emergency mobile phone in case parents need to contact us. This number will be displayed on the registration table when you drop your child off in the morning.

Can my child bring their mobile phone with them?

We understand that you may want your child to have a mobile phone for your own piece of mind. However, during camp hours we kindly ask if we can look after your child’s phone and we will return it to them at the end of the day. We do this to prevent theft or loss and to prevent unauthorised images being taken of the other children at the camp.

My child has an allergy, can you accommodate this?

Our staff members are trained in responding to anaphylaxis and have been taught how to use epi-pens safely and effectively.

My child is on the autistic spectrum, will this camp be suitable for them?

We acknowledge that autism has a broad range of symptoms and no two cases will ever be the same. Some of the activities involve sharing equipment and working in pairs which we understand can be challenging for some children. However, our teachers have had extensive training and experience helping children who are on the autistic spectrum and will offer them the time and help required to ensure they have a positive experience.
